One of the things that is really cool about the computer game we are playing is that there are switches that control every part of your mind. There are switches that help you control pain, and switches that help your stomach work better. And coolest of all, every time you play the “I’m a computer game”, and relax by turning off the muscle switches, your mind automatically turns on the switches for a normal tummy and turns off the switches for pain. Your pointer finger controls the relaxing switches and your thumb controls the pain switches. Every time you think about moving your pointer finger it causes your muscles to relax and it causes your mind to get really calm. And every time you think about moving your thumb, it causes your mind to forget about pain, and it causes your body to work normally. And when you think about moving your thumb, it causes you to be mentally at peace, and feeling great.
Try it now. First, think about moving your pointer finger now, and even if you can’t feel it move, just thinking about moving your pointer finger makes your whole body and all its muscles feel more relaxed, more heavy, more like sleepy and peaceful. It feels so good to just relax and every time you think about moving your pointer finger you feel more calm and peaceful.
And now that you are very relaxed and peaceful, think about moving your thumb. Moving your thumb turns off the pain feelings in your tummy, and even thinking about moving your thumb causes your whole body to relax and start working normally. And when your body is working normally and you are free of pain, it feels so good to do all the things you enjoy the most. And you feel better and better every single day.

And as you start relaxing the pain starts fading away. The pain fades away the more you relax. Then you think about moving your thumb and just thinking about moving your thumb turns off all the pain switches and turns on all the normal operation switches in your body. And within a couple of minutes the pain is fading away and you are feeling great. Even thinking about moving your thumb tells all your body inner organs to begin working normally and to turn off pain. It is so good to know that you are in charge of how your body feels, and your magical and powerful inner computer is working all the time to keep you feeling great.
Moving your thumb is one switch that turns off pain, but your mind has an even more powerful way of turning off pain and turning on good feelings.
If you imagine your pain is like a big hot, red ball of fire in your tummy, you can use your mind to make the pain go away by imagining doing things that put out the fire.
Practice with me now. Remember how it felt the last time you had a really bad pain in your tummy. Now, imagine that you can see the pain, and it looks like a big, hot red ball of fire. Now imagine a wonderful water hose spraying a cooling spray of water on that fire. Imagine your mind being like a firefighter, putting out the fire. And notice that as you put out the fire, the pain and discomfort start fading away. Anytime your tummy hurts, you can make it feel better with your mind. All you have to do is take a deep breath, close your eyes, and imagine that the pain is a big ball of fire in your tummy, and then you imagine putting the fire out with a wonderful water hose, and as soon as your mind imagines spraying water on the fire, the pain and discomfort begin to fade away. And you feel peaceful, calm, relaxed and in control.
Let’s practice again: Remember another time you really had a lot of discomfort in your tummy. Take another deep breath and let it out, and pretend you can actually see the pain, and it looks like a big, hot red ball of fire in your tummy. Now imagine that your mind is like a firefighter spraying that ball of fire with a big old fire hose, and putting the fire all the way out. As the fire goes out, the pain starts fading rapidly away. And your body starts working perfectly and smoothly, And you poop easily and naturally. As the pain fades away, your whole body returns to normal.
You can use your powerful fire hose technique any time you want. You don’t have to be in hypnosis, or even be very relaxed. All you have to do is close you eyes and imagine that the pain is a big ball of fire inside. Then imagine putting the fire out with a very powerful fire hose. And as soon as you imagine the fire going out, your mind totally removes the pain, and leaves you feeling totally great.
You can use your finger switches to relax and your thumb switch to turn off pain whenever you like. And every time you listen to this CD, your switches get more and more powerful.
