“So I now imagine taking a large pair of silver scissors and I cut the cord of attachment to my ex. Surprisingly, it cuts cleanly and easily and then the rope disappears completely. The attachment has been severed and I feel free to walk in a new direction.

“I notice a group of people having a party on the beach. They invite me to join them. As I join in the festivities, I enjoy these new friends and get involved. I look forward to meeting new friends and moving on to the next phase of my life.

“With every hour and day that follows this session, the thought of my ex becomes more of a distant memory. It seems as though we are now miles apart on that beach. And when I turn back, my ex is far away looking tiny and hazy in the distance.
