It feels so good to just let go and relax. So to deepen this wonderful state of relaxation, imagine a blackboard or whiteboard. In your dominant hand, you are holding a piece of chalk or a marker. And in your other hand, you are holding an eraser. You imagine writing one of the letters of the alphabet on that board, the last letter, the Z. It is made of two straight lines and a diagonal, and as you imagine writing the Z on the board, it causes you to relax a little more. Then you imagine erasing the Z right off the blackboard of your mind, and every time you erase a letter from this blackboard, it causes your powerful mind to double its state of deep and peaceful relaxation… Feel how good it feels to erase and relax.

Now write the capital Y on the board in your mind, relaxing a bit more as you do… and with your eraser hand, gently erase the Y from the board and feel yourself relaxing more… doubling your relaxation again. Expect yourself to relax as you erase each letter. Want yourself to relax deeply as you erase each letter. And feel how good it feels to relax into such peaceful comfort.

Now imagine writing the X on your board with your dominant hand, appreciating its shape, and the feel of the crossing lines. And then with your other hand, imagine erasing the X right off the blackboard of your mind, once again doubling your state of calm and pleasant peacefulness… and every letter you erase causes your mind to relax deeply and wonderfully.

Now write all the letters of the alphabet backwards down to P with your writing hand… just imagine putting them up on your board, appreciating all the shapes and realizing how much the letters shape our lives. Relaxing with these familiar symbols of the mind’s power to invent… And then, with your eraser hand, in one motion erase all those letters from the mental board… and every letter you erase causes your mind to relax soooo deeply… W…V…U…T…S…R…Q…P – just erasing and dropping now into a deep, focused state of amazing peace and comfort.

Follow with your writing hand putting up the next set of letters in reverse order – from the O down to the H. Such a varied set of straight and curving letters, so elegant and beautiful, so powerful, these letters that let us describe the world in words. And for just this short time, you allow your other hand to temporarily erase these letters from your mind. And as you erase each letter, your state of mental relaxation doubles and doubles and doubles. O…erasing  and relaxing…N…. deeper… M…more and more calm… L… K…. J… I…. H… just dropping now into an even deeper, and more focused state of refreshing peace and comfort… Every letter you erase from your imagination causes you to double your state of wonderful relaxation and peace.

And now let your writing hand put up the last seven letters of the alphabet… from G down to A… lots of swirling curves and beautiful that create so much meaning. With your eraser hand, gently erase each letter in turn… slowly, gently erasing, remembering that every letter you erase, causes you to double you wonderful relaxation…  G… gently, peacefully letting go… F… fully, totally relaxed… E… erasing and letting all the cares of the world take care of themselves… D… deep, tranquil awareness… C… calm, centered and so serene… B… balanced, relaxed and all is well and… A… absolutely at peace.
