Imagine you’re in a grassy park, on a warm spring day. 

It’s quiet, and the only sounds you hear are a songbird or two, the gentle rustle of the leaves in the trees nearby, and perhaps far in the distance, some children playing. 

The sky is bright blue, with a few puffy white clouds drifting slowly overhead. And you’re walking casually along, enjoying the peace and beauty of this place.

Before long, you come to the top of a long, sloping hill. 

Gazing far down the hill, you notice an inviting shady spot at the bottom, and feel drawn there. 

So you decide to take a relaxing walk down toward it.

And as you walk down the hill a little way, you notice that you feel a little more relaxed and at peace than before. 

Continuing on down the hill, the further you go, the lighter you feel inside. 

And as you make your way down further, you become even calmer, happier, and lighter still. 

And by the time you get to the bottom of the hill, you feel completely carefree, and ready to bring healing into your body and mind.

There in that shady spot at the bottom, you find an inviting hammock stretched between two old trees, and you easily climb in and lie down. 

Ah… that’s more like it. This is a great place to just rest, and relax.

Begin to follow your breath, as if each breath were an ocean wave coming into shore, and then going back out. 

Simply enjoy the gentle rhythm of your breathing for a few moments.

As you follow your breath, enjoying its rhythm, your breathing gradually begins to slow down. 

Continue to follow your breath for a while, and each time you breathe in inwardly say the word “slow,” and each time you breathe out inwardly say the word, “even.” 

Do this for a time now.

Continue to follow your breath, and now, each time you breathe in, inwardly say the word “lower,” and each time you breathe out, inwardly say the word, “slower.” 

Do this for a time now.

Listen to the following affirmations, and allow them to resonate deep within.
